  • Notes:
  1. Feluccas are simple boats without cabins or electricity and you sleep on deck on mattresses with blankets and cushions provided. With a clean small toilet and shower, kitchen on board.
  2. Felucca sailing depends on the wind and current so no exact timing or schedule and this is the best way to chill out and enjoy the sailing and free yourself from all the pressures (you will arrive when wind assists the felucca to reach the next destination).
  3. Canvas walls and a roof are erected at night.
  4. Extra blanket provided during the winter months (November to February) when it can get cold a night.
  5. Mosquito repellent is recommended for the evenings and early mornings, and wearing long sleeves at night is a good idea.
  6. Life jackets are provided for non-swimmers.

ITINERARY

DAY 01:ASWAN | INSTALLATION ON FELUCCA

Provide us with your arrival or pick up details in Aswan, For Boarding and installation on your felucca and sail downstream for the next 2 nights. En route stops will be arranged for swimming and visiting local sights.

DAY 02: FELUCCA | ASWAN | RELAXATION:

Relax and enjoy the swaying of the waters. Let yourself forget the hassles of daily life and let the river, its sounds and sights take your imagination on a journey. Also walk in the village (01h): meeting with the fellahs, tea at the inhabitant and walk between houses. Lunch on board then navigation.

DAY 03: DISEMBARKATION NEAR KOM OMBO | EDFU | TRANSFER TO LUXOR | LUXOR TEMPLE

HIGHLIGHTS OF THIS DAY: Edfu Temple | Luxor Temple.

After breakfast we bid farewell to our felucca crew and we will drive to Luxor (approx. 3 hours’ drive). Enroute will visit Edfu Temple. Explore Temple Edfu and visiting one of the most wonderful temples in Egypt, Temple of Horus in Edfu, which is considered to be one of the most well preserved temples in Egypt. Then drive to Luxor and check in at your selected Hotel. Early evening will visit Luxor Temple which was once joined to the Temples of Karnak by a two-kilometer long Avenue of Sphinx, a portion of which marks the entrance to the temple. Dominated by statues of the great warrior pharaoh Ramses II, Luxor Temple has survived Nile floods, foreign invasion and thousands of years exposed to the elements. A pure Egyptian temple, the inner walls and columns are decorated with intricate hieroglyphics which your guide will help you decipher. Find out how Alexander the Great wrote himself into Luxor Temple’s history, and see one of the original pair of obelisk, the second of which now stands on the Place de la Concorde in Paris.
